Wallace changes when Mr. Fogelman forces him to serve his detention at the rehearsals of the school play. At first, Wallace thought that nothing could be worse than spending his afternoon at a play that he wanted nothing to do with. However, Wallace becomes popular among the actors for suggesting modern dialogue for their lines. Mr. Fogelman becomes enraged when Wallace and the actors suggest having a fake dog and a moped to start the play, to simulate the dog being run over by a motorcycle at the beginning of the novel.
Wallace changes greatly thoughout the book. He really hates the play at first but enjoys making changes. Everyone looks up to him like he is a genius at writing dialogue for plays.
Wallace Wallace at first is unbearable during rehearsals and cannot stand hearing the words Old Shep, My Pal. He puts his input on every aspect on the play whether it’s negative or positive. Over the course of the play, he starts to begin to adding more modern features to the production. He changes from being a rebel to co-director in the eyes of the actors. People begin admiring him more when he changes the play in a better way.
Does he change in a good way or a bad way? And if he is so inerested in the play, why doesn't he join it? Also how do you think his affect on the play will have when it is show night?

He makes so many changes the play is more enjoyed by the entire cast and people start to look up to Wallace. Everyone thinks Wallace is a genius after he starts to change the play.

But as the story goes along he starts making changes to the play and everyone thinks he's an amzing writer. it seems that eveyone comes to him when something goes wrong with the play.

Even if Wallace doesn't get much playing time, they have had enough of him being in detention. Sooner or later he will let him off the hook and get back to what he does best, football!

Wallace sees how the football team treats these drama club members and he is determined to find out who has been doing all these bad things to the play. Wallace changes the way peopl elook at him. he changed some of hims friends, because he started to become a part of the drama club.

When his English teacher gives him detention until he writes a good review of Old Shep My Pal and he gets suspended from football, he turns into a grouchy and rude boy. He doesn’t look forward to going to the play practices and is not going to write his good book review. As time goes by and he keeps going to the play practices, he finds that the play is fun. He doesn’t care about what others think of him and becomes friends with people in the play such as Rachel and Trudi (84). He becomes more open and carefree and doesn’t think that what other people think of him matters.
In the beginning, Wallace Wallace is the football star in beford. All that matters to Wallace is his mom and his football team, but that all changes when his English teacher gives him detention because he wrote a bad book review of Old Shep My Pal.Not only is Wallace in detention, he is suspended from the football team. At first Wallace is very upset about having to go to play practice instead of football but as time goes on he realizes he likes the play and wants to join it and he does not care about what others think.
Wallace used to be a jock on his school football team The Giants, and now he works with the drama club and tries to make the play better. He also lost all of his football friends, but his new ones are the drama club members. He learns that it’s not that bad being friends with the drama club people.
I agree! And also, I think his personality has changed alot. He now has taken this more seriously! I think in the end the play will be very good and will succeed if everything is going as planned.

He believed that if he was there than he might as well help out, and his way of helping out was to modify the play. He also has much more respect for the cast members, and that it takes a lot of work to produce one play. He has always had leadership values, but he has never used it with people he wasn’t that familiar with at first, but then he came closer to them over the course of this text.

Wallace hates being there and refuses to write a better paper. But Wallace starts to enjoy the play and starts to help out and change parts in it. “It was creeping into every part of my life. In a weird way, I was even starting to feel I had a stake in it (101).” Wallace has taken a big turn in the book and has changed the way he thinks about the play.
